Hyderabad: The High Court at Hyderabad has directed the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to inform the court whether they had received the complaint from Kodangal MLA and Congress leader A Revanth Reddy against the Ministers for illegally collecting huge sums of monies as funds in the name of ‘Gulabi coolie’ for holding Plenary session of TRS party in Warangal between April 21 and 28 of this year. And if they had received, when was it received and whether entry was made in the General Diary and if made what action was taken on it, the court asked.

This information must be given to the court by December 13, the court directed the ACB. Justice S V Bhatt gave these directions, while hearing a writ petition filed by A Revanth Reddy seeking a direction to the ACB to act on his complaint against Ministers, MPs and MLAs for illegally collecting huge sums of monies for TRS plenary.

The senior counsel for the petitioner, C V Mohan Reddy, informed the judge how each Minister symbolically worked for a brief while and collected lakhs of rupees for that ‘labour.’ One Deputy Chief minister took classes in three schools and collected Rs 5 lakh, while another Deputy Chief Minister worked in a Honda showroom in Hyderabad for 10 minutes and pocketed Rs 9.60 lakh.

This action of Ministers and MPs clearly fell under the purview of various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and deserves to be investigated and prosecuted. He informed the court that the petitioner had complained to the ACB in this regard as long back as August 31, but it was rejected by the DSP of ACB. Later, the petitioner sent the complaint by registered post to the DGP of ACB, but no action had been taken till date on his complaint.
