Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao visited the NTPC Power Plant at Ramagundam on Friday morning.

The NTPC power plants are being set up to generate 4000 MW. As part of it, in the first phase construction of two plants (2x800) 1600 MW has started. The Chief Minister has examined these works. NTPC Executive Director Dubey told KCR that by May 2020 the first unit will be completed and the second will be ready after six months.

The Chief Minister has asked the NTPC officials to speed up the works and complete the plants as per schedule. Since in Telangana state there is need for power other than the irrigation, it should be supplied at the earliest. TS Genco CMD D Prabhakar Rao has explained to the CM on the construction of plants and coordination among the electricity organisations.

KCR said that the government was ready to supply water required for the plants and other help.
