Hyderabad: Congress leader A Revanth Reddy, who recently joined the party, will enter the Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday on the occasion of All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Sonia Gandhi’ birthday and Telangana State announcement day.

Revanth will make his entrance along with other former Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders and officially take part in the party activities forthwith. Many leaders who joined the Congress in the presence of AICC Vice-president Rahul Gandhi will also come to Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday.

It may be recalled here that Revanth Reddy who was the TDP State unit working president and representative in the Assembly from Kodangal Assembly Constituency joined the Congress last month.

Revanth, who opposed TDPs tacit understanding with the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), left Telugu Desam to join the Congress. He decision to quit TDP was due to his opinion that alliance of TDP with TRS, which have earned the wrath of the people, would be suicidal.

Along with Revanth Reddy several leaders of Telugu Desam including B Janardhan, Vijayaramana Rao, Seethakka, Vem Narendar Reddy, S Babu Rao, Gangadhar Goud, A Narsa Reddy, D Sambaiah, T Jangaiah Yadav, Sasikala Yadav, K Satyanarayana, Bilya Naik, P Ramesh Reddy, Rajaram Yadav, Satish Madiga, M Satyan and others joined the Congress.

Revanth Reddy, who was politically active and often voiced his opinions against the ruling party, remained silent since he joined the Congress. He participated in the Praja Garjana Sabha held at Achampet recently. According to his followers, Revanth wanted to make a grand entry into Gandhi Bhavan and would start working as Congress worker after this event immediately.

He chose the birthday of Sonia Gandhi because she made the dream of separate State for Telangana come true by playing a key role in giving separate statehood.

Revanth will start his journey to Gandhi Bhavan from his residence as a rally and will take the blessings of deity Peddamma Talli on the way. He will also offer prayers at Yusuf Darga at Nampally and proceed to Gandhi Bhavan. The leaders who joined the Congress along with him will participate in the rally from Nampally.

He acquired large number of vehicles and thousands of his followers will travel with him to mark his debut entrance. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Working President Bhatti Vikramarka will invite Revanth into Gandhi Bhavan.
