Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has directed the officials to make flawless arrangements for the World Telugu Conference (WTC) to be held from 15th to 19th December.
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has directed the officials to make flawless arrangements for the World Telugu Conference (WTC) to be held from 15th to 19th December.
The Chief Minister said that the WTC should highlighting the Telugu language and literature in tune with its theme. He said cultural programmes should be organised at the main venue at Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium on all five days. He said that the WTC was a prestigious event for Telangana and elaborate arrangements should be made for all guests and delegates.
KCR said Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu would be the chief guest at the inaugural function and Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao and AP and Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan would be participating as Special Guests. President of India Ramanath Kovind would be the chief guest for the valedictory function, the CM said.
The Chief Minister held a four-hour long review meeting on the WTC at Pragathi Bhavan on Monday. The meeting was attended by Deputy CM Kadiam Srihari, Ministers T Harish Rao, Tummala Nageswara Rao and Ajmeera Chandulal, Chief Secretary SP Singh, Government’s Advisors Anurag Sharma and KV Ramanchary, State’s Special Representative in Delhi Venugopalachary, Samskruthika Sarathi Chairman Rasamayi Balkishan, MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Mining Corporation Chairman Seri Subhash Reddy, Sahitya Academy Chairman Nandini Siddha Reddy, Cultural Affairs Director Mamidi Harikrishna, Official language Commission Chairman Devulapalli Prabhakar Rao, Grandhalaya Samstha Chairman Ayachitam Sridhar, Telugu University VC SV Satyanarayana, CMO OSD Desapathy Srinivas, Tourism Secretary Burra Venkatesham, Principal Secretary (R&B) Sunil Sharma, DGP Mahender Reddy, GHMC Commissioner Janardhan Reddy, HMDA Commissioner Chiranjeevulu and Collectors of Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal.
The Chief Minister was told that about 8,000 delegates from different parts of country and abroad would participate in the conference. KCR directed the officials to make proper arrangements for all the guests. He said the delegates should not face problem for the stay, food and other logistics. He wanted proper transport arrangements for the delegates to visit several daises in the morning and reach to the main venue at LB Stadium in the evening. He suggested that each delegate preferences should be ascertained before organising the transport accordingly. Programmes in other daises should be completed an hour before the start of the programmes at the LB Stadium. He wanted screening of a documentary on Telangana every evening and introduction of the artistes, artists, programmes etc., at the LB Stadium.
KCR has instructed the district collectors to organise free travel and food facility for the Telugu Pandits, teachers, members of the literary organisations and other literature lovers. Such facilities should also be provided for those attending the WTC from the neighbouring districts.
The Chief Minister wanted special enclosures for the foreign delegates, delegates from other states, registered delegates, women, ministers, public representatives, media and common people participating in the programme. He also wanted Jnana Peeth awardees from 13 languages be invited and felicitated on the occasion. “We should get the credit of felicitating so many Jnana Peeth awardees,” the CM said.
