World Telugu Conference The opening of the World Telugu Conference (WTC) will be kicked off with culture torch relays from all the districts reaching LB Stadium.Similar to the lines of the Olympic torch runs, the relays are aimed to create awareness on the conference and make people aware of the cultural heritage of Telugu language and literature.

Starting from December 15, the first-ever five-day literary and cultural event in Telangana will have torch rallies begin from the birthplace of well-known Telugu literary scholars including Dasaradhi Rangacharya, Palkuriki Somanatha, C Narayan Reddy, Pothana amongst others.

The proposal for the cultural torch rallies has already been cleared by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who has constituted a cabinet sub-committee to review the arrangements for WTC.

Being attended by around 200 delegates from 60 countries and 7,800 delegates from within India, the Chief Minister has earmarked Rs 50 crore for conducting the world meet.
