Hyderabad: After a long battle, the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments have got their own servers to maintain data, upload nd preserve the property registration documents separately by the Registration and Stamps departments of the two States.

It may be recalled that the two States locked the horns over the ownership of the existing server installed in Hyderabad, in 2011 in the united AP. Telangana has been demanding the neighbouring State for the allotment of the server to them ever since its inception. However, the AP turned down Telangana’s plea citing technical and security issues in shifting the server until it establishes a permanent server which cost crores of rupees.

At present, the AP government offered some space for Telangana government in the existing building to set up a separate server for which the latter has agreed.

Officials of the Telangana State Stamps and Registration department said the new server has already become operational and connected to all 141 Sub Registration Offices (SROs) in the State. The increasing number of property registrations in both the States had put heavy a burden on the server established in the erstwhile AP. Further, it has also become a herculean task to retrieve the data during exigencies from the single server.

Speaking to The Hans India, Vemula Srinivasulu, State DIG of Stamps and Registrations said the new server was equipped with a highspeed data-carrying system which helps in curbing frequent server crashes.

He further added that a dedicated bandwidth and upgraded data storage facilities will help in uploading the registration documents instantly and also enable people to fill applications related to sale, gift and other transactions including marriage registrations online before visiting the officials for registration.

To use the new server at optimum level, Srinivasulu said all the SROs were integrated with server by installing Iris recognition equipment, biometrics, digital cameras, LAN networks, thumb impression devices, printers, scanners, UPS, CCTV cameras, routers and servers. The head office has got the facility to monitor the activities in all SROs regularly. The new technology would also help in curbing the duplication of registration of the properties, he said.
