Hyderabad: TDP senior leader and former minister Uma Madhav Reddy, along with her son Sandeep Reddy and other supporters, joined the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi here on Thursday.
Uma, Sandeep and other TDP leaders were inducted into TRS by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao himself.
Speaking on the occasion, KCR said that Uma Madhav Reddy had joined the TRS without any conditions. In fact, he said Uma had praised the performance of Bhongir's sitting MLA of TRS Shekhar Reddy and had made clear that she was not would not seek MLA's ticket from the constituency. Recalling Uma's husband A. Madhava Reddy, the former Home Minister who was assassinated by naxalites, KCR said he was like his elder brother. He said after Madhava Reddy's death, Uma joined politics and she too served as a very popular and non-controversial minister.
KCR assured that Uma Madhava Reddy and her son would be given an appropriate position in the party.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also advised senior TRS leaders not to feel insecure with the entry of new people into the party. He said all leaders would be given due importance and no one would be ignored. He also listed out various measures being taken by TRS Government for the development of Bhongir and surrounding areas
