Hyderabad: Congress Legislature Party leader K. Jana Reddy on Friday alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao was criticising AICC president Sonia Gandhi for political gains.

Addressing a press conference at CLP office in Assembly, Jana Reddy strongly condemned KCR for his alleged comments that Sonia Gandhi gave Telangana under pressure. He said Sonia Gandhi granted statehood for the region only to respect people's sentiments and honour her words. He reminded that KCR, along with his entire family, visited Sonia Gandhi to thank her for giving Telangana. However, after three-and-a-half years, KCR has become so arrogant that he is insulting Sonia Gandhi. He said people of Telangana would teach TRS and KCR a fitting lesson in next elections.

Jana Reddy said that the Congress party was all set to return to power, both in Telangana and at the Centre, in 2019 elections and Rahul Gandhi would be next Prime Minister. He condemned BJP and other parties for under-estimating Rahul Gandhi. He said unlike other leaders, who do anything to get the top positions, Rahul Gandhi rejected Prime Minister's post twice. He said Nehru-Gandhi family gave several sacrifices for the country and BJP should be ashamed of itself for making attempts to malign their image.

The Congress leader also welcomed the conduct of World Telugu Conference in Hyderabad and congratulated Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu and Chief Minister KCR for the same. He hoped that the conference would prove beneficial in promotion of Telugu language.
