Describing Telugu as a sweet language, he advised Urdu speaking people to put in some efforts to learn the language.

The Deputy CM said that the Telangana Government has made Telugu as a compulsory subject from 1st to 12th class. He hoped that that this move would help in promotion of Telugu. He also expressed confidence that the ongoing World Telugu Conference would help in giving recognition to rural writers and poets.
