Hyderabad: Celebrations broke out at the Shyam Prasad Mukherjee Bhavan, the BJP State headquarters here on Monday as the news started flashing on the TV screens that the saffron party is all set to form governments in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.

The party leaders and workers danced to the 'teen maar' beat, sprinkling gulal on each other, and raised “Gujarat, Himachal Jita Hai, Telangana, Karnataka Baki Hai” slogan at the BJP state headquarters here in Nampally.

A large number of party workers gathered at the State BJP office at Nampally and burst crackers and distributed sweets. State party chief Dr K Laxman, former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Floor Leader in the Assembly G Kishan Reddy and Khairatabad MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy showed ‘V’ sign to celebrate the victory.

Party activists raised slogans in support of the BJP and chants of ‘Modi, Modi’ reverberated at the party office. Speaking to the media later, Laxman said people all over the country supported development slogan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including decisions on demonetisation and GST and people of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh voted for the BJP.

Slamming the Congress for spreading venomous campaign against the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi by AICC president Rahul Gandhi, Laxman said the people of Gujarat rejected that party and gave their verdict in favour of Narendra Modi.

The people also rejected the Congress in Himachal Pradesh after tasting five years of its ‘misrule’. The people of Gujarat supported the BJP and voted for it for the sixth time, he said, adding that the election results in Gujarat where the BJP ruled 22 years, clearly showed that the slogan of ‘Congress-mukt Bharat’ was going to be realised soon.

Laxman also said now the party’s Central leaders would concentrate on South India, particularly Karnataka and Telangana States.

He hoped that the BJP would become an alternative to the TRS in Telangana and would wrest power in 2019 elections as people of the State were disillusioned with the ‘anti-people and anti-farmer’ policies of the State government.

Rejoicing the occasion, party Floor Leader in the Assembly G Kishan Reddy said the people of Gujarat had rejected caste-politics of the Congress. The achievement of Rahul Gandhi after his coronation as AICC president was the handing over of Himachal Pradesh to the BJP in a golden platter.
