Hyderabad: The Congress party will continue its winning streak in the Karnataka Assembly elections, said Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir, here on Wednesday. In fact, the Congress would get more number of seats, he felt.

When a delegation of 20 minority leaders led by Bengaluru MLA Zameer Ahmed, who joined the Congress party recently from Janata Dal, called on Shabbir Ali said the Congress party was making all efforts to get justice to people in Telangana State and successfully implementing 4 per cent reservation for Muslims, when it was it power in the united Andhra Pradesh.

The delegation consisted of party workers from Raichur, Gulburga and Bidar districts The Congress party under leadership of Rahul Gandhi had recorded stellar results in Gujarat and is now ready to face elections in Karnataka, he said.

He responded positively to the appeal by Ahmed that Telangana State Congress leaders should campaign in 2018 Karnataka Assembly elections in erstwhile Nizam state areas like Raichur, Gulburga and Bidar where there was Minority population.

The MIM is likely to play the decisive role of dividing votes in favour of BJP as was the case in Nanded Municipal elections.

He also said the BJP was capturing power in every State by using undemocratic tactics and creating fear among voters through their frontal organisations like RSS, Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

The Prime Minister during campaign at Gujarat did not speak a word on benefits of GST or demonetisation, but after the election shamelessly he had announced that the people of Gujarat had supported his reforms, he alleged.
