The Ghanpur-Patancheru 44 km pipeline works are being taken up at the cost of Rs 3.98 crore and its capacity is 1800 mm. This apart, another project for the outskirts is also going on with the support of HUDCO.

Hyderabad water board has been working on the project of drinking water supply beyond Outer Ring Road (ORR) with due permission from HMDA. The works have reached up to Daudapalli, Pocharam, Sultanpur and further.

These works are expected to be completed by August 2018, said director projects M Yellaswamy. He said that if the project completes it would be able to supply drinking water to Nallagandla, Gopannapally, Surakshanagar, Miyapur, Hitech City, Madhapur, Bahadurpet, Gachibowli, Financial District, Ameenpur, Bachupally, Ramchandrapuram, Patancheru and other areas.

This will include about 60 villages in the area. The Godavari water is reaching city via two ring mains so far. Ring Main 1 brings water to Qutbullapur, Lingampally, and Ring-2 provides water to Sainikpuri and other areas.
