Khammam: District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar directed the officials of department concerned to strengthen child protection centres by forming child protection committees at village, mandal and urban levels by coordinating with the committees of She Teams.

Addressing a meeting held with officials of District Child Protection Society at Collectorate Conference Hall in Khammam on Thursday, Lokesh Kumar advised the officials to provide all the facilities in the protection centres as per the Juvenile Justice Act and admit the children as per the orders of Child Welfare Department.

He further asked the officials to provide separate accommodation for girls and boys besides installation of CCTV cameras for constant vigil. He further added that a training programme would be conducted for the organisers of the child protection centres about the Juvenile Justice ACT and also on the way to maintain registers.

District Child Protection Officer T Vishnu Chandana informed about various activities taken up by the District Child Protection department in the district.

Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal, District Welfare Officer R Vara Lakshmi, District Education Officer D Vasanthi, District Medical and Health Officer Kondal Rao, Directors of the CDPS’s and the Child Development Project Officers were present along with others.
