RTC bus partially gutted as miscreants set it on fire

Hyderabad: An RTC bus was partially gutted after some unknown miscreants torched it after pouring some inflammable substance on it, near Osmania University on Thursday. The police began manhunt for the culprits with the help of CCTV footage in the nearby shops and residences near Jamia Osmania bus stop.

This incident took place on Thursday afternoon when the crew were shifting their duties. After parking the bus at Jamia Osmania bus stop, the driver left as another driver was supposed to take care of the bus. But before another driver arrived, some miscreants had poured some inflammable liquid (petrol or kerosene) and torched the vehicle.

Locals who observed the burning bus, immediately alerted the police and fire services. The fire tenders arrived at the spot and doused the flames. But by the time, the bus was partially damaged, with some windows and some seats burnt down to ashes. The Chikkadpally police registered a case and began investigation.
