Cong ready to take on TRS in poll joust
With better performance in Gujarat Assembly elections and with the exoneration of previous UPA government in the 2G scam, the Telangana Congress is hoping that the mindset of the people towards the party would change and this would help it to fight the next elections in the State with renewed confidence.

As the UPA emerged as a clean political entity, Congress could now mount pressure on the BJP. The improved image of the party at the national-level would also help it in the State to make big gains in Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. Speaking to The Hans India, official chief spokesperson of Telangana Congress Dasoju Sravan said that the NDA which had come to power at the Centre with mudslinging on the Congress party at the previous general elections, had failed to prove any case against the Congress and the UPA.
“Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi have been proved to be clean personalities. The court verdict on 2G scam has enhanced their image and vindicated their policies,” Sravan said.
He said that the NDA government had failed to file at least one charge sheet against the UPA leaders in the past three-and-half years. Though lots of allegations have been made against Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra, no charge sheet has been filed against him, he said.
Gujarat elections and 2G scam developments have brought more cheer to the party which is surging ahead, he added. Political analysts said that Gujarat polls and 2G scam developments would enhance the party’s image and would help it to fight the TRS in the State.
Corruption charges on the UPA government have led to the defeat of the Congress during last elections time. Now that the BJP and TRS parties have no strong weapons to attack the Congress, the grand old party could become aggressive in the campaign and could improve its chances of winning.
