KCR Govt taking steps to empower women: Mahender

Hyderabad : Transport Minister P. Mahender Reddy has claimed that the Telangana Government was taking several steps to empower women.
Speaking after flagging off 5K Run organised by American Telugu Association at Necklace Road on Saturday, the minister said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao was keen on providing women equal growth opportunities in all spheres of life. He said that the State Government has launched several welfare schemes for the welfare of women. He said steps were taken to increase representation of women in jobs, education and also industries.
The minister said protection of women was ensured in Telangana State and the incidents of eve teasing got reduced after the formation of She Teams.
Malkajgiri MP Malla Reddy, ATA president Ashi Reddy and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
