Two students killed in hit and run accident in Medchal
Two postgraduate girl students were killed in a road mishap on Friday in Medchal district.
Two postgraduate girl students died late Friday night in Medchal district in a hit and run accident. The incident occurred at Aliabad junction in Shamirpet Mandal when the duo travelling on two-wheeler vehicle was hit by an overspeeding truck when they were turning towards their college hostel.
The two girls, Pranavi and Veena died on the spot. Their classmate Kushal who was on a motorcycle and a little ahead was also hit by the truck and suffered injuries.
The victims were pursuing B.Tech first year in National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR). The CCTV footage shows a truck knocking down both the two-wheelers at the turning and stopping for a moment. Later, two other vehicles passed the accident spot following which the truck sped away.
Police have taken the driver into custody.
