Hyderabad: The city police on Sunday issued guidelines for organisers of the New Year events. The police made it clear that there should be “no obscenity, no nudity, no firearms and no minors.”

City Police Commissioner V V Srinivasa Rao said no obscenity and nudity in any performances would be allowed during New Year celebrations on December 31.

As far as three-star and above hotels, clubs and pubs are concerned, the managements should ensure decency of apparel, dance, acts, gestures and words. Also, the sound levels at revelries should stay below 45 decibels. Special parking arrangements should also be made.

The police asked the organisers to ensure deployment of good number of security guards at the parking areas where drugs are clandestinely sold. Liquor should also be served during hours permitted by Prohibition and Excise department. The Rachakonda police also issued guidelines and listed dos and don’ts on the eve of New Year celebrations.

Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat said a massive vehicle checking would be carried out on Outer Ring Road (ORR) and other highways to check drink-driving.
