Addressing a press conference on Friday, the Deputy CM informed that remaining 34,067 acres pertaining to 10,984 institutions were in litigation and the cases are pending in Civil, MRO and RDO courts. However, he said that survey of land in litigation would be taken up in second phase. He said that the ongoing land survey has been taken up in all the 10,806 village in 568 Mandals. Of them, survey has been completed in 10,443 villages and the survey is in progress in remaining 363 villages.

The Deputy CM said the available land in the state is 2,30,44,373 acres in which survey has been completed in 2,13,14,724 acres which comes to 98%.

Mahmood Ali said that the farmers and other land owners were happy with the survey and they cooperated with the survey teams. He said that last survey was done during Nizam's Rule in 1934. It was found that the litigations were minimum at some places. At other places, most of the cases were related non mutation of property, non transfer of property to the heirs, some relating to selling one piece of land to two or more people etc., He said the survey of such lands would be taken up in second phase.

The Deputy CM said that the new "title Deed - cum- Patta Pass Book" will be distributed from January 26 (Republic Day). The new pass book will have over 72 features similar to that of Passport. If anyone has taken a bank loan on earlier patta pass book, the new pass will also have that entry. He said it would be easier with the new pass book for the seller and the buyer of land to go for registration and the buyer could get mutation documents within 72 hours through Registered post. The buyers need not wait for the documents and visit the Registration office, he said.
