The High Court at Hyderabad has directed the police to furnish their explanation to the charges made in the writ petition, alleging that the Minister K Taraka Rama Rao, Mahbubnagar MLA V Srinivas Goud and Mahbubnagar District Collector Ronald Ross were making efforts to save Mahbubnagar Municipal Commissioner B Dev Singh, who is facing serious charges under Sections 420, 406, 409, 468 and 471 of Indian Penal Code registered by Jogulamba Gadwal Police.
Justice S V Bhatt gave a direction on Thursday to this effect while hearing the writ petition filed by two Congress councillors of Mahbubnagar Municipality seeking a CBI probe into this issue. The petitioners alleged Minister KTR, MLA Srinivas Goud and Collector Ronald Ross were trying to protect the accused Commissioner. The judge directed the police to furnish their explanation to these charges and adjourned the case to January 19.
