With the Cyberabad police deciding to make ‘zero accident day’ this New Year, there will be tight security arrangements during the intervening night of December 31 and January 1. Revellers as well as travellers to the Shamshabad airport have been advised to carry their relevant documents and to avoid drunken driving during the night hours.

Hyderabad: With the Cyberabad police deciding to make ‘zero accident day’ this New Year, there will be tight security arrangements during the intervening night of December 31 and January 1. Revellers as well as travellers to the Shamshabad airport have been advised to carry their relevant documents and to avoid drunken driving during the night hours.

Since there will be restrictions on the ORR (Outer Ring Road) and complete closure of flyovers, the police advised the travellers to the airport to carry relevant documents to avoid hindrance during the night between 9 pm and 3 am.

To avoid any untoward incidents and accidents during the night, the Cyberabad police have advised the restaurateurs and hoteliers to ensure safety of their heavy drunk customers and to ensure they travel on cabs or relatives escort them to their residences. For keeping under check the cases of drunk and driving, the Cyberabad police formed 120 special teams.

Meanwhile, the City police on Saturday informed that all flyovers will be closed for the traffic. The Tankbund will be completely closed during the intervening night for the traffic. Travel buses, lorries and heavy vehicles will not be allowed into the city till 2 am on January 1.

The vehicular traffic on the NTR Marg, Necklace Road and Upper Tankbund will not be allowed between 10 pm and 2 am on the intervening night. The vehicular traffic coming from V V Statue towards the Necklace Road and NTR Marg will be diverted at the V V Statue towards Khairatabad and Raj Bhavan Road.

Vehicular traffic coming from BRK Bhavan towards NTR Marg will be diverted towards Iqbal Minar, Lakadikapul, Ayodhya. The vehicular traffic coming from Liberty Junction towards Secunderabad will be diverted at the MCH Office Y Junction towards BRK Bhavan, Telugu Talli, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharathi, Lakdikapul and Ayodhya.

The vehicular traffic coming from Khairatabad Market to go towards Necklace Rotary will be diverted at Khairatabad towards Meera Talkies lane. The Mint compound lane adjacent to the Secretariat will be closed for general vehicular traffic.

The traffic coming from Nallagutta Railway Bridge will not be allowed towards Sanjeevaiah Park and Necklace Road and will be diverted towards Karbala Maidan or Ministers Road. The traffic coming from Secunderabad will be diverted at the Sailing Club towards Kavadiguda X Roads, Lower Tankbund, Kattamaisamma Temple, left turn & Ashok Nagar and RTC X Roads.
