The Hyderabad Metro rail which was launched a month ago amidst a lot of speculation hit its first major technical glitch on Sunday.

On a Metro service on the Ameerpet-Nagole section, an electrical circuit malfunction occurred in the front coach in the early hours of Sunday halting services on the route for nearly two hours.

While the authorities took action immediately, the train was then led to parking at the pocket track between Begumpet and Prakash Nagar stations to give way to other services from both directions.

Within two hours, the train services were restored from both directions.

Following this, the officials conducted a high-level meeting and decided to station maintenance gangs at Metro stations for a quick response.
