According to the reports, the Excise Department garnered 20 percent more revenue from the sale of liquor in December 2017 compared to December 2016.
Apart from Hyderabad, liquor sale witnessed a rise also in Nizamabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, Nalgonda, and Khammam.
Meanwhile, more than 2000 cases of drunk driving were registered by police in Hyderabad on New Year’s Eve and many vehicles were seized. Even popular TV anchor Machiraju Pradeep was among the many who was booked for drunk driving.
