Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC), TDP and CPI on Wednesday extended support to Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) founder Manda Krishna Madiga, who has been jailed for sitting on a protest fast.

Demanding the Telangana government to release the MRPS leader immediately, Kodandaram said that the government is behaving ruthlessly obstructing people’s protests in the state and added that using repressive measures against those who raise people’s issues is unacceptable in a democracy.

The TJAC chief said that with the Dharna Chowk shut down, the Opposition party leaders and people’s organisations are not being allowed to organise protests in the state capital.

Condemning the arrest of Manda Krishna, TDP politburo member Motkupalli Narsimhulu and CPI State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy asked the state government to release of the MRPS leader from jail as early as possible.

Meanwhile, the bail petition for Manda Krishna filed by the MRPS leaders was rejected by a local court on Wednesday.
