Minister for Animal Husbandry, Talasani Srinivas Yadav addressed the gathering at the inauguration ceremony and said that he is happy to launch this scheme.
He stated that ever since the Telangana government has been formed, the department is working tirelessly to reach the top position in all the government departments.
Congratulating the department officials for their contribution, the Minister said that the officials have put in a lot of efforts in the goats' distribution scheme, which has garnered a positive reputation for the government.
As per the data from the state animal husbandry ministry, nearly 29 lakh families in Telangana are engaged in the livestock sector for their livelihood.and the value is estimated to be Rs 12,403 crores at current prices, with the livestock sector contributing around 4.86 percent as a gross domestic product (GDP) in the state.
