Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will be adopting Task Electronic Assessment and Monitoring (TEAM) method, an online measurement recording and bill payment system, to keep track of the engineering works taken up by the corporation.

The Centre for Good Governance (CGG) developed the required software and mobile-app that covers all the activities for execution of engineering works. In the first phase, post tendering activities such as handing over of site, execution of work, daily recording of measurements, uploading photographs of the work and billing are covered. All the field engineers will be provided with e-Tablets for online recording of measurements of works, supervision and monitoring.

The system adopted by the civic body to keep track of engineering works will be a first in the country by a government organisation. It has the advantages including standardisation of processes across the organisation, brings transparency and accountability in the system, effective monitoring of work progress and billing at every level, speedy office work duly eliminating unnecessary repetitive tasks (viz. preparation of abstract MB) and MIS reports based on real-time information for easy decision making at every level.

GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy, in a meeting with the engineers, held on Thursday, instructed the engineering wing to adopt TEAM as early as possible due to inherent advantages of online computerised system. He instructed that the first phase shall be rolled out positively by this month end.
