A criminal case has been registered against Verizon Data Services India (VDSI) Pvt Ltd over allegations of extracting resignations forcibly from few employees and unleashing bouncers on them.

Based on a complaint, three terminated employees alleged that VDSI hired bouncers in December and were threatened to resign on the papers put forth by the management.

In the complaint, the former employees stated that they were individually called into a meeting room since December 12th where HR manager placed printed papers of the resignation letters with their names and asked them to sign in the presence of the bouncers.

When the employees refused to sign and sought time, the HR personnel rejected it and the bouncers didn’t allow them to move out of the room.

They set the record straight that the management coerced them into signing the documents and it was not voluntarily.

A case has been registered under Sections 506 (criminal intimidation) and 341(wrongful restraint) of the IPC.
