Malakpet: K Anil Kumar, a patrolling police officer under the Chaderghat Police station limits extended his helping hand to a common man who fell down on the road with fits. He has once again proved that men in uniform are truly ‘Friends in uniform’.

Describing the incident he told The Hans India, “It was about 9:40 am in the morning, a man on his bicycle all of a sudden fell down with fits. He fell down with great intensity on the main road which resulted in severe injuries on his forehead and lips.”

Anil Kumar further added, “I picked him up from the road and took him aside, where I comforted him till he regained his senses. In the mean time I gave him first aid so that the blood flow stops. I called up the ambulance, within 10 minutes the ambulance had arrived. The wounds were cleaned up and bandaged by medical experts.”

Adding more about the incident, he said: “He was not in a position to speak anything. Therefore, I took his phone and called up his brother, who reached the spot in 20 minutes. Post-treatment we handed over the victim to his brother.”

The official humbly added: “Policing and community service go hand in hand. However, the inspector of Police of my unit P Sattiah always keeps us reminding of the duties and qualities of a good police officer, which our Director General of Police M Mahender Reddy and our Commissioner of Police VV Srinivas Rao have enlisted on various occasions. I am just trying to follow the instructions of my seniors so, that we can gain the confidence in the minds of people.”
