New Delhi: Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Suresh Prabhu here on Wednesday invited Telangana State IT Minister K T Rama Rao to join him at the prestigious Davos Summit this year in view of the giant strides the State has been making in the industry and IT sectors.

Disclosing this to the media here on Wednesday after his meeting with the Union Minister, Rama Rao said Telangana State had topped the Ease of Doing Business in the country with its TS-iPass initiative. He said he urged the Minister to extend help in establishing the Pharma City by according the NIMZ Status and by release Rs 1,500 crore.

Bringing to Suresh Prabhu's notice that the Centre had announced Rs 20 crore allocation for the Nizamabad Spice Park, he urged the former to release the funds at the earliest along with funds for the Hyderabad-Warangal and Hyderabad-Ramagundam and Hyderabad-Bengaluru Industrial Corridors. Telangana was also waiting for clearance to set up a mega leather park in Warangal, he told Suresh Prabhu while inviting him to attend the Bio-Asia Seminar to be held in Hyderabad from February 22 to 23.

Earlier, attending the conference of People of Indian Origin Rama Rao supported the External Affairs Ministry’s decision to rescind the passports of those who preferred to go to troubled countries like Libya and Yemen having been airlifted by the Indian authorities once.

He pleaded for the appointment of at least four Telugu translators in each of the Embassies in West Asian countries in view of the large number of Telugus working there. The State government would soon establish Videshi Bhawan in Hyderabad to help the Telugus, he added. G Ashok Kumar, Principal Resident Commissioner, Telangana Bhawan, accompanied the Minister.
