Hyderabad: Why did Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy and MLA V Srinivas Goud have burst out at some ministers in the state at a function recently.

This has become subject of a hot debate in the TRS since Naini is known for restraint as far as protecting the image of the government is concerned.

Naini, who is a close confidant of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, during a calendar release function organised by 1969 Telangana movement activists recently, said: “The leaders who had abused KCR during the Telangana agitation have now become MPs, MLAs and ministers. Some of them have even taken important posts in the government.” The Chief Minister had to take them into the cabinet for conspiracies were being hatched at that time to destabilise the TRS government in the state, he said.

Mahbubnagar MLA V Srinivas Goud too had supported Naini stating that whatever the Home Minister had said was true and that he feels sad whenever he thinks of the black sheep in the movement.

Naini's comments spread across the party like wildfire, fueling speculation that axe may fall sooner than later on those who have lost Chandrasekhar Rao's trust. The buzz in the government is that they would be shown the gate.

According to sources, two ministers who have Telugu Desam background and those who were not part of Telangana movement might soon find themselves in hot waters as KCR appears to be angry with their style of functioning.

The TRS leaders say that no one is more privy to information in the TRS than Naini since the latter knew KCR for a very long time and that he enjoys credibility with the Chief Minister. "There is no way they could have been remarks. It does not happen that way," one TRS leader said.

Sources said that there is a discussion within the party that two leaders who joined the TRS before and after formation of Telangana state who are now ministers, are likely to be axed whenever reconstitution of the cabinet takes place.

Sources also said that one of the two ministers was not even welcome at Pragathi Bhavan, the Chief Minister’s camp office for quite a long time now.

The million-dollar question now is when would the much-awaited cabinet reconstitution would take place.
