Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao demanded that the Congress leaders tender conditional apology for making criticism against Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan.

Speaking to media persons in Peddapally on Sunday, Harish Rao said that the Congress leaders were wrongly targeting the Governor who praised Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao over Kaleshwaram Project. He said that the Congress leaders were not willing to accept the reality that the TRS Government was completing all the pending irrigation projects. He said despite being in power for two terms in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and also at the Centre, the previous Congress Governments did nothing to complete the projects.

Harish Rao said that the TRS Government does not need any certificates from the Congress party on its performance. He said that the TRS Government has been working hard to complete the projects to benefit the common people. He said that the Kaleshwaram Project would benefit lakhs of Telangana farmers and therefore, the works are being executed in multiple shifts to finish the project on time. He asked whether the previous Congress Government ever worked in night shift to complete the works.

The minister accused the Congress leaders of resorting to cheap politics and demanded that they withdraw their remarks against the Governor.
