Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Tuesday inspected the 320 two-bedroom houses being constructed in Bandamaisamma Magar in Bansilalpet division at a cost of Rs.27.2 crore, 162 houses in Pottisriramulunagar(cost Rs.14 crore), 180 in GYR Compound (cost Rs.15.57 crore) and 400 houses in Ambedkarnagar(cost Rs.34 crore) of Ramgopalpet division.
Bansilalpet: Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Tuesday inspected the 320 two-bedroom houses being constructed in Bandamaisamma Magar in Bansilalpet division at a cost of Rs.27.2 crore, 162 houses in Pottisriramulunagar(cost Rs.14 crore), 180 in GYR Compound (cost Rs.15.57 crore) and 400 houses in Ambedkarnagar(cost Rs.34 crore) of Ramgopalpet division.
Yadav went round a photo exhibition put up at the sites. During a chat, local residents expressed happiness over the progress of the work of the two-bedroom houses. People stated that they would be indebted to the government for its gesture of building houses for them.
The minister was accompanied by Collector Yogita Rana, GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy, Corporators Hemalata, Aruna Goud, and officials of the Municipal administration, Revenue and Housing departments.
Later the minister told press persons that the government was spending thousands of crores for providing facilities like drinking water, power supply, drainage and roads to go with houses. With the houses in places slums areas would get a new look. Yadav criticised the previous governments for neglecting the interests of the poor.
He accused local Congress leader Marri Sashidhar Reddy of filing court cases to stall the housing scheme. He ridiculed the claim of TPCC chief N Uttamkumar Reddy that the Congress would be voted to power in 2019.
Among those present during the inspection were RDO Chandrakala, GHMC DMC Shailaja, EE Suresh, Endowments department DC Srinivas Reddy, AC Venkatesh, Water Works GM Sudarshan, Housing EE Venkatadasu Reddy, Tahsildars Hasina Begum, Shailaja, Saidulu.
