Hyderabad: Boddupalli Srinivas, husband of Nalgonda Municipal Chairperson Laxmi, was found brutally murdered by some unidentified persons near his house in Gandhinagar.

Srinivas had reportedly left the home around midnight saying following information of some quarrel going on between two groups at a roadside eatery. Police suspect that he was chased and beaten to death by some unidentified persons.

They hurled a huge boulder on his head killing him on the spot. The body of Srinivas was shifted to district hospital for post mortem. Nalgonda Superintendent of Police DV Srinivas and Deputy Superintendent of Police S Sudhakar visited the spot and supervising the investigation.

Srinivas was a close associate of Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. On information, Komatireddy rushed to Nalgonda from Hyderabad and consoled the family members. Later, he led a demonstration at the clock tower demanding the arrest of killers of Srinivas.

Meanwhile, TPCC President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has strongly condemned the murder and accused the TRS Government of pursuing murder politics. He said that the government did not provide adequate security to Srinivas although he had expressed fear for his life in the past.

Demanding a high level probe into the incident, Uttam Kumar Reddy demanded that all the guilty persons be arrested at the earliest.
