Telangana Congress Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Thursday accepted the challenge of IT Minister KT Rama Rao and announced that he along with his wife and sitting legislator Padmavathi Reddy would retire from politics if the Congress failed to come to power in next elections.

However, his challenge included that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao along with his son KTR, daughter and MP K Kavitha, nephew and Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao must also announce retirement from politics if TRS loses the elections.

Speaking to the reporters, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that while he is unconditionally accepting the challenge posed by KTR, the Chief Minister also should make the announcement of the retirement of his entire family from politics if Congress comes to power in Telangana.

Alleging that KTR’s challenge only reflected his arrogance and the TRS leaders’ arrogance has moved to an extent of not witnessing the sufferings of common people.

He stated that during the last four years of TRS regime, no section of the society benefitted except the family members of one family.

Expressing confidence of Congress winning more than 70 seats in next elections, the Congress leader further castigated KTR for criticising national leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi.
