HMRL chief addresses foreign delegates on leadership skills
Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited Managing Director NVS Reddy addressed a foreign delegation of 32 senior government officers from 25 countries like Ethiopia, Bhutan, Cambodia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Afghanisthan, Syria, Honduras, Cote D’ Ivoire, Mali, Tunisia, Algeria, Argentina, Oman, Suriname, Gautemala, South Sudan, Malidives, Namibia, Seychelles, Botswana etc., on leadership skills at Metro Rail Bhava
Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited Managing Director NVS Reddy addressed a foreign delegation of 32 senior government officers from 25 countries like Ethiopia, Bhutan, Cambodia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Afghanisthan, Syria, Honduras, Cote D’ Ivoire, Mali, Tunisia, Algeria, Argentina, Oman, Suriname, Gautemala, South Sudan, Malidives, Namibia, Seychelles, Botswana etc., on leadership skills at Metro Rail Bhavan on Wednesday.
Making a Power Point presentation to them, who are in the city as a part of the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI)’s “High Impact Leadership/Managerial Skill Development” program, he explained various innovations that have been taken up in the Hyderabad Metro Rail project.
Speaking on the challenges in building huge urban projects in Indian cities, he explained how innovative engineering and financial solutions helped resolving several complex issues and facilitated implementation of the world’s largest Metro Rail project in PPP mode.
NVS Reddy emphasized on the need for enormous patience to ensure completion of such a mega and complex project. Dwelling upon the character and attributes of extraordinary leaders who made a difference to the world, Mr Reddy stressed on the need for vision, strategy, tact, empathy, patience and perseverance in handling challenges. Identifying employees’ potential and empowering them is a key component for achieving success, he added.
Hearing about the complexity of building a high technology mega transportation project in a congested city and the key features of the project like integration with other modes of transportation, smart ticketing, creation of pedestrian facilities like sidewalks, street furniture etc., the foreign delegation is highly appreciative of the progress made by Indian cities like Hyderabad in building world class infrastructure facilities.
Later, they have taken a Metro train ride from Rasoolpura to Ameerpet and appreciated the world class Metro facilities and train ride.
