Hanamkonda : The Warangal unit of Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, GoI on Thursday organized an awareness campaign (rally and symposium) on various Central Government schemes include Mudra Scheme, Beti Bachao/Beti Padhao, Rural Electrification Scheme, Ujjawala Yojana and Swachhta Abhiyan at ZPHS, Duggondi Mandal Hqtrs.

The special Outreach programme (SOP) was organised by Field Publicity Officer Ardha Srinivas, in close coordination with District Women & Child Welfare Department, District Medical and Health Department, District Rural Development Agency, Song & Drama Division and Doordarshan of Ministry of Information and broadcasting. General public, school children and women in huge number from ICDS, IKP and Self Help Groups participated in the campaign.

Warangal (Rural) District Medical and Health Officer Venkat Ramana, District Welfare Officer Sabitha, MRO Satyanarayana Rao, MPDO Pallavi, MPP Susheela, Gram Panchayath President Chandana, District Child Protection Officer Mahender Reddy, DRDA Assistant Project Manager Raj Kumar nd Senior journalist Santhosh Kumar explained on the welfare schemes on the occasion. SBI Duggondi Manager Sridhar explained on Mudra Scheme.

Earlier to the programme, public meetings, group discussions, quiz competitions, film shows, photo exhibitions, well baby show were conducted in and around Duggondi. DFP unit also distributed publicity material to sensitize villagers, self- help groups members, social workers, Micro Level workers and other key persons in the remote villages of Duggondi Mandal.

On the occasion speakers hailed the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They opined that open defecation is a curse to the society and cause of several health issues in rural as well as urban areas in the country. They also urged that people to construct individual toilets and also make the habit of using them. They also urged the people to utilize the social security schemes like PMJJY, PMSBY and APY. Prizes were distributed to winners in Essay Writing, Election and painting competitions on the occasion.

MPP Smt Susheela expressed her happiness for organizing the programme in Duggondi.

Earlier MRO Satyanaryna, along with other officials, flagged off the rally in which hundreds of women, students and youth participated with placards depicting the welfare schemes slogans. Rally passed through main streets of Duggondi and reached the venue of symposium. Gaddam Sudershan troupe of Song& Drama Division presented performance on Swachh Bharat and Beti Bachao and Beti Padao on the occasion.
