Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is adopting the latest technology to help the commuters have a friendly and easy travel.

With the Vehicle Tracking and Passenger Information System (VTPIS), the commuters will be informed regarding the various stages of their travel.

The information about the next stop will be given by an automated announcement to the commuters in the bus at each stop and also the time to reach the next stop.

The same will be flashed on the LED screens in buses. For those waiting for a bus at a stop, the details will be provided through the tracking system.

Initially, the VTPIS is to be implemented in March in 8,500 buses plying across rural areas in the state.

Coming to Hyderabad, all the 2,100 bus stops in Greater Hyderabad Zone will be equipped with screens showcasing the details on the movement of buses heading in the direction and providing arrival time of buses. This will be put to use in Hyderabad after three months of study in the district buses.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is engaged to set up shelters in all the bus stops in the city with the new shelters to be equipped with digital boards, Wifi, drinking water, and toilet facilities.

Apart from this, the TSRTC is also planning to introduce Hyderabad Metro Bus App to help the passengers know the availability of different buses - ordinary, metro, metro luxury and AC on their route.

In addition, the app will offer them information on the shortest route available to their destination, frequency of the buses and fare.
