Bike showroom gutted; 40 vehicles burnt

Hyderabad: In a grisly incident a bike showroom was completely gutted with 40 of its vehicles burnt, in the fire accident which took place during early morning hours in Bazaarghat in Nampally.

According to police, the fire accident took place in Autofin Honda showroom which burnt down about 40 vehicles to ashes. Locals tried to control the situation before the fire tender arrived. “A short-circuit, triggered the fire accident.

During the morning hours, when security men opened the shutter of the showroom, they felt smoke billowing from the showroom. They immediately informed the nearby policemen and we called in fire tender and the fire was controlled. However, half of the showroom’s vehicles were damaged,” police said.

No causalities were reported, nearly Rs 1 crore worth property is burnt. However, the police officials who began investigating into the incident felt that the showroom did not have fire safety mechanism in accordance with the norms.
