Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police seem to have achieved a breakthrough in cracking the mystery behind grisly murder of a pregnant woman whose body parts were found stuffed in gunny bags near Botanical garden at Kondapur during the last week of January.

According to official sources, the police identified the vehicle, a two-wheeler (Yamaha) and the man under whose name the vehicle is registered, with the help of footage from CCtv cameras. Later, they also zeroed in on the residence of the accused. He is identified as Vijay, a native of Nagpur.

The police believe this to be a case of ‘extra marital affair,’ where Vijay had a relationship with the deceased woman, though he is married. As she became pregnant, he faced a problem with the woman and decided to murder her.

The accused, who was working for a well-known private company, is still absconding since January 28, the day woman was murdered. The police also believe that he was helped by another person, who was seen riding on this bike in the CCtv footage.

As part of the investigation, the Cyberabad police also conducted cordon and search operation in Anjaiah Nagar and Siddique Nagar, near Gachibowli. This was led by Joint Commissioner of Police Shahnawaz Qasim and Madhapur DCP P Vishwa Prasad, with a team of 350 policemen.

One of the reasons for conducting the search operation is that the deceased woman is believed to be a native of Assam and these localities mostly comprise labourers from Assam.

Meanwhile, the police brushed aside the rumours that the accused of the murder was traced through Facebook. “Till now, police got some CCTV visuals and analysing them. Some whatsapp groups are displaying some images of the accused without any official confirmation.

As the case is under investigation and without proper proof, baseless allegations will damage image, self-respect, and dignity of a person if he or she is accused of crime.

It also leads to defamation and other legal consequences or problems. So, the officials urge those jumping to conclusions to wait for conclusion of investigation. Cyberabad, Commissioner of Police, Sandeep Shandilya has appealed to all to wait for successful conclusion of investigation.

It may be mentioned here that about a week ago, the Cyberabad police also released two sketches of the murdered pregnant woman whose chopped body parts were found stuffed in gunny bags near Botanical garden.

During the course of investigation, four eyewitnesses reportedly told the police the woman, who was eight month pregnant, was seen on January 28 at a hotel near Botonical Garden. The ‘portrait Parle’ was also developed on the basis of eye-witnesses’ account.
