Hyderabad: Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday expressed concern over the lack of transparency and responsibility among the leaders in the present-day politics.

The Vice-President was speaking at a function organised to felictiate former Chief Minister and former Governor K Rosaiah here on Sunday. T Subbirami Reddy Lalitha Kala Parishath presented ‘Life Time Achievement Award’ to Rosaiah, Venkaiah Naidu presented the award to the former Governor. The Kala Parishath honored Rosaiah with a Gajamala and a Swarna Kankanam.

He said punctuality, discipline and culture were very important to political leaders. Stating that there were no enemies in politics and only opponents, the Vice-President eulogised Rosaiah, saying that the former Chief Minister was a multi-talented personality and work-minded. Recalling his association with Rosaiah, Venkaiah Naidu said Rosaiah was a committed worker and worked with clarity and cool mind.

Replying to the felicitation, Rosaiah said his political career started with Jai Andhra movement and Venkaiah Naidu became his friend. Subbirami Reddy said the credit of taking Telugu pride to international level should go to Venkaiah Naidu and Rosaiah. He praised Rosaiah for working as Finance Minister for a record time.
