BJP cultural troupes to highlight failures of government
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit roped in cultural troupes to storm the villages across Telangana to highlight the failures of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government on various fronts.

Addressing media after releasing the Jana Chaitanya Mandali Wall Paper here on Monday, BJP State unit president K Laxman said as a run-up to the programme, the Jana Chaitanya Mandali will organise Dhoom Dham events from February 19 to February 23 at Thyagra Raya Gana Sabha.
Nearly 100 artists will take part in the programme, he added. The cultural troupes will highlight various welfare schemes initiated by the BJP led NDA government at the Centre and the failures of the TRS government in the State, he said.
As part of this, there will be songs, dramas, playlets and other art forms prepared to highlight the mission of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government taking measures for the development of the people and the country, Laxman said.
In the same way, the art forms will highlight the electoral promises made by TRS Chief and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and how he failed to deliver on the same but, trying to get away with his political rhetoric’s and theatrics, he added.
These efforts were in addition to the long-drawn programmes like Mahila Yuddha Behri, Dalit Adalath, BC Sangarama Sabha, Girijan Garjana and Nirudyoga Garjana and the like, BJP State unit chief said. As the party had a strong cadre across the State, it will make every possible effort to instil confidence among the people that it was only BJP which will provide a viable alternative to the TRS in the State, he retaliated.
Laxman alleged that the State government is in such a sorry state that it was not even able to spend the funds released by the Centre for various schemes.
He said the 14th Finance Commission had allocated Rs 2,988 crore during the 2015-16 financial year and another Rs 900 crore during 2016-17 financial years to Telangana. But, the State government could not spend even 50 per cent of the funds allocated, he added.
Similarly, the allocations made to several towns and corporations by the State government were not spent. “Expenditure on the development of Siddipet town is less than 15 per cent, in case of Karimnagar Municipal Corporation the expenditure did not cross 30 per cent, the expenditure on Jagityal, Huzoorabad, and Ibrahimpatnam also did not cross more than 50 per cent, he said.
