Karimnagar: Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy inspected the Ambedkar Stadium, where Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is going to attend the Regional Farmers Coordination Committee (FCC) meeting to be held on February 26 here in Karimnagar.

Speaking on this occasion, the Minister said it was the idea of the Chief Minister to appoint FCCs at village, mandal and district levels to benefit the farming sector in the State.

He also said by taking the decision of giving Rs 8,000 for one acre of land for two crops along with supplying water for about one crore acres of land, the Chief Minister stood as an example for all States in the country.

Agriculture must not be done with just hard work, it must be done with interest, he said and added that the farmers who migrated to other districts for sake livelihood would come back with the initiations taken by the State government. The government would support such farmers from the time of cultivation of crops till they sold their produce, the Minister said.

He said that Ministers, MPs, MLCs, MLAs, Market Committee chairmen, Zilla Parishad chairmen, about 10,000 mandal level FCCs, farmers, agriculture officers, staff members of Horticulture department and members of cooperative societies from 16 districts are going to take part in the meeting which is going to be held on February 16 at Ambedkar Stadium in Karimnagar.

The meeting will start at 10.30 in the morning and the Chief Minister will inaugurate the meeting with his message, followed by lunch. The Minister said green and pink colour papers would be given to farmers and agricultural officers. The green colour paper is meant for receiving suggestions and ideas and pink is for expression of doubts.

“The farmers who attend the meeting will return to their villages and cultivate their fields with full of energy and enthusiasm,” the Minister said. Reddy directed the officials to make all arrangements for conducting the meeting successfully.

KDCC Bank Chairman K Ravinder Rao, JC Badri Srinivas, Assistant Collector Praveenya, DRO Ayesha Masrath Khaanam, RDO B Raj Goud, R&B EE Sridhar, Deputy Director of Marketing Department Padmavathi and Assistant Commissioner of Police were present.
