Hyderabad: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, has announced the schedules for Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test - 2018 (TSEamcet -2018) and Telangana State Engineering Common Entrance Test- 2018(TSEcet- 2018).

Addressing media at a joint press conference held here on Monday, Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) Chairman Prof T Papi Reddy, JNTU-H Vice-Chancellor A Venugopal Reddy, TSEamcet- 2018 Convener Prof Yadayya, TSEcet- 2018 Convener Prof Govardhan announced the schedules of the two common entrance tests going to be conducted in online mode for the first time in Telangana state.

Also, the meeting held to finalise the schedule for the Eamcet has also decided to hold the online examination in the Urdu medium, in addition to the English and Telugu mediums. Prof Papi Reddy said entrance test for the Agriculture and Pharmacy of Eamcet- 2018 will be held on May 2 and 3.

Entrance for the Engineering stream will be held for three days on May 4, 5 and 7, he added. The online examinations will be held in two sessions on each day. The forenoon session will be held from 10 am to 1 pm and the afternoon session will be held from 3 pm to 6 pm, he said.

Notification for the Eamcet will be released on Feb 27 and submission of online applications will commence from March 4. The last date for submission of online applications without late fee will be April 4 and candidates could correct the data submitted between April 6 and 9. Downloading hall tickets from the website will start from April 20 and will end on May 1.

Results of the examinations will be declared within 10 days from the date of examination. This time, registration of candidates with their email has been made mandatory. After the announcing the provisional key, a copy of OMR answer sheet of the candidates will be sent to their email in a pdf format along with the provisional key. Three days will be given to the candidates for appeals and to raise objections, Prof Yadaiah said.

Earlier, Prof Venugopal Reddy said about 1.5 lakh candidates are expected to take Eamcet- 2018.Unlike in the offline mode, the examination will be held in two sessions each day. For a maximum number of 25,000 candidates could be accommodated in a single session.

It was for this reason multiple sessions will be held with each session having a different set of question paper. Taking this scheme of conducting examination it was decided to adopt the standard practice of normalisation while evaluating the responses of the candidates, he said.
