Hyderabad: The Congress Legislative Party leader K Jana Reddy said that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) will be buried the moment the Congress returns to power in the State and at the Centre. Addressing media at Assembly Media Hall here on Thursday along with Alampur MLA S A Sampath Kumar, Jana Reddy predicted that all TRS leaders will join the Congress party in the near future.

He was responding to the criticism by Information Technology Minister K T Rama Rao against the Congress party. The senior Congress leader said conducting counter press conference against persons like Rama Rao would be degrading their level and added that this would be the final one.

Jana Reddy said that he was opposed to political defections. He recalled that he had resigned from his post when he shifted his loyalty to another political party. He also pointed out that he had launched a political party and merged it into Congress later. Referring to A Revanth Reddy, Jana Reddy said that the Kodangal MLA joined the Congress as the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) was on the verge of extinction in the Telangana State.

Jana Reddy said that power-drunk Rama Rao crossed his level and likened the Congress leaders as ‘Alibaba and 40 thieves.’ He also alleged that the IT Minister formed a ‘gang’ to attack Congress and fool the people. He accused that the TRS was inducting Telangana betrayers into the party.

He also claimed that the Congress was the first party to raise Fluoride problem and allotted funds to eradicate it. He also said the Congress government introduced several schemes in 2004-05 and allocated Rs 200 crore to the affected villages. The CLP leader said that he laid the foundation stone where Rama Rao recently launched the water scheme for 66 villages by allocating Rs 100 crore. He also said the Congress brought Krishna water to Hyderabad city and solved water scarcity in the capital city. The people would teach a fitting lesson to the TRS, he added.

Jana Reddy said that instead of saying that irregularities took place in Indiramma houses, the government should prove and punish the guilty. He lamented that the TRS government borrowed loans to the tune of Rs 2.20 lakh crore before completion of its four-year tenure, he said.
