Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) State unit will hold mammoth public meetings and rallies to boost the morale of party cadre ahead of 2019 elections. Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will also take part in the programmes.

Chandrababu Naidu held a meeting with Telangana leaders and discussed the party’s action plan including fielding candidates in all assembly and parliamentary constituencies for the next elections. He instructed the leaders to identify suitable candidates to contest in the elections.

As the party is facing tough time with mass exodus of its leaders to other parties, the TDP leadership has decided to hold rallies and public meetings in Telangana and instill confidence among the cadre, it is learnt.

Party senior leader R Chandrashekar Reddy said the TDP was planning to organise a mammoth public meeting during the party’s annual conclave Mahanadu in May. Chandrababu Naidu will attend the public meeting and address the Telangana people.

As part of strengthening the party, the TDP would hold rallies in the districts and expose the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government’s failure soon, the leaders said. All the district and mandal level party committees will be constituted before Mahanadu.

Senior leader M Narasimhulu, however, skipped the meeting. It may be mentioned here that he came out openly with the demand to the merge the TDP with the TRS and invited the party’s wrath recently.
