Hyderabad: Apparently defying Telugu Desam Chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s fresh dictum to party leaders stop making damaging statements against the party, TDP Telangana unit leader Motkupalli Narasimhulu on Friday said he was in favour of joining hands with TRS in 2019 elections. He also stood by his earlier statement of merging TDP with TRS.

Addressing the press here, Motkupalli said the only option for the yellow party to survive in the Telangana was to sail with TRS in next elections. He earlier said that the party was on the brink of extinction in Telangana and demanded Naidu to hold rallies and public meetings to boost the morale of the cadre. Motkupalli skipped the party’s Telangana leaders meeting conducted by Naidu on Thursday in Hyderabad. In the meeting, the TDP chief asked party leaders to put an end to the speculations of party’s merger with TRS.

Meanwhile, Motkupalli said he has been loyal to Naidu and maintaining cordial relations with the leaders. His only demand was to revive the party by joining hands with TRS, because the party will not yield any results if it goes alone in the next elections. In a scathing attack on former TDP working president and Congress leader A Revanth Reddy, Motkupalli said Telugu Desam suffered big only after Reddy was caught in ‘Cash for Vote’ scam.
