Hyderabad: Telangana JAC is likely to make announcement about the political party in April. In the meantime the JAC would organise a meeting public on March 10 at Tank Bund to mark the success of Million March during Telangana agitation.

According to sources, the JAC leaders in a meeting held recently discussed on various issues including announcing the party’s name. Sources said that the JAC Chief Prof M Kodandaram would go public in April in the form of a public meeting either in Warangal or in Hyderabad.

The JAC leaders had first decided to launch the party in March as the JAC chief wanted a special occasion to launch the party such as the day on which Million March was taken up. However, with delay taking place in the registration of the party name forced the JAC leaders to postpone the announcement date in April. It is certain the JAC would come up with political party in April, said a senior JAC leader.

The JAC leader said that because of the delay in the registration of the party. “All the formalities will be completed by Tuesday. A notification would be issued by Election Commission within 15 days calling for objection and the process will be completed by this month end,” said the JAC leader. It is learnt that the JAC leaders had gone for Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) as it would be catchy and it is close to JAC and most of the leaders are said to be in favour of this name, said sources.

The JAC leaders have now decided to take part in a meeting at Tank Bund on March 10, the day on which Million March was taken up in association with CPI and other political parties. The CPI secretary Chada Venkat Reddy had applied for the police permission, the JAC leader said.
