Hyderabad : More than 96% candidates of first year intermediate appeared for the exam held across Telangana State on Tuesday by the Board of Intermediate Education.

Of 517,055 registered candidates, as many as 492,952 appeared for the Maths-IA, Botany, Civics, Psychology - Paper I. A total of 24,103 or 4.66% abstained from it.

A total of 18 cases of malpractice were booked which include 5 cases from Nagar Kurnool, three each from Suryapet and Mahabubabad, two from Nizamabad, and one each from Mancherial, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Khammam and Kamareddy.

Observers from Board were sent to Suryapet, Mahabubnagar, Yadadri, Sircilla, Kamareddy, Vikarabad, Ranga Reddy & Hyderabad Districts. Except above 18 malpractice cases, examinations have been conducted smoothly and peacefully without any untoward incidents.
