Hyderabad: High load over online admissions server of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) is giving jitters to parents across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, who wanted to take admission for their wards into Class 1 in about 50 KV schools in both the States.
- Heavy load on the server cited cause problem to admission seekers
- Parents struggle for days to submit the filled-in application forms
- Online admission process for academic year 2018-19 to end on March 19
- Last preference given to children of civilians who are not Central government employees, armed personnel, ex-servicemen and the like
Online admissions which started on March 1 for the academic year 2018-19 will end on March 19. As per the guidelines, parents have to first complete a registration form and submit the online application giving preference of the schools in which they wanted to admit their children.
Accordingly, S Ramakrishna from Canara Bank Colony, Rajahmundry has been trying his best to submit the filled in online registration form to admit his five-and-half-year-old daughter in Kendriya Vidyalaya, ONGC located in the KG Asset.
"It took three days for me to get the registration done. All three days, by the time I hit the submit button, the screen would disappear with a message stating server facing high load,” he said.
It was not a different story for Chandram from Hyderabad, trying his luck to submit the application form for his ward. Most of the times, either it showed the server is not found or the server experiencing high load.
After six days of the opening of online applications, the KVS online admissions portal continue to fail to provide hassle-free access, rued S Srikanth from A S Rao Nagar. Speaking to The Hans India, a faculty member of KVS No 1, Uppal said, “Many parents were worrying as they seeking admission under category 3(A)(5) and B (6).”
He explained that there were two categories of preference in KV schools. Firstly, those KV schools under Civil and Defence sector and those established under Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs).
In the first case, last preference would be given to children of civilians who are not the employees of the Central government, armed personnel, ex-servicemen and the like. Similar is the case with KV Schools established under PSUs and IHLs.
Meanwhile, there was no application fee and children with 5 to 7 years were admitted in Class 1 on the basis of an exam and the results of the selected candidates would be announced by the end of March. Admissions for Class 2 and above will be starting from April 2, and the last date for the submission of online applications is April 19, 2018.
