Hyderabad: A major political development is set to take place in the ruling TRS on the party’s foundation day on April 27. In all probability, TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao’s son and IT Minister KT Rama Rao is likely to be elevated as the party’s working president.

As KCR has already decided to take a plunge into national politics, the party chief is seriously planning to constitute TRS national committee to spearhead the political alternative in coordination with the likeminded parties in the country.

As part of consolidating the front, the TRS supremo will also take up a tour of all states and seek the cooperation from other parties to strengthen the front before 2019 elections.

“The elevation of KTR in the party will be a clear indication that KCR is getting ready to pass on the baton to his son so that he would become the second Chief Minister of Telangana state," a reliable source said.

Party senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP K Keshava Rao will be tasked to hold talks with the leaders of various parties in other state and persuade them to join the Front which KCR is leading. KCR is also planning to announce the third front’s agenda at the party’s annual conclave, the source said.

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and TRS Parliamentary Party Leader A Jitendar Reddy will be among those who would be entrusted with key positions to lead the party in the state, the source said.
